In my diploma thesis I dealt with the theme of the stigmatisation of the users after their leaving psychiatric treatment. I wanted to find out, how life changes for the users after psychiatric treatment. First, I tackled the notion of mental health and mental disorder; then, I followed by explaining on stigma and stigmatisation. I also touched upon themes like prejudices, stereotypes, and labels. I continued explaining hospitalisation and what the damages due to the hospitalisation are. I then presented the qualitative research in which seven persons were included. With the use of half-structured interview and framework themes, I inquired after the interviewees’ experiences with the intervention involving an ambulance and their experiences, relations, and gained help from narrower surroundings, wider surroundings, and institutions. I researched what strains or/and obstacles on their way to better well-being they faced. I also studied their material status and perspective or, respectively, their view of their future. I found out, that the majority of the interviewees had a negative experience with the intervention followed by the involuntary hospitalisation in a psychiatric hospital.
