The economy and electric energy consumers are highly dependent on reliable electric energy transmission. The transmission of electric energy starts from generation units towards end consumers over transmission lines. On the generation side, the generator voltage is transformed into a higher voltage. Electicity is then transmitted over transmission lines over long distances to transformer substations, where the voltage is transformed to lower voltage values. This work presents the Podlog substation, its renovation and all further phases up to commissioning of the new 400/110 kV 300 MVA transformer, which is also the goal of this work. Various variants for the renovation of Podlog substation are also presented. From the point of view of operational reliability, it was most appropriate to replace the old transformator with a new one. Replacement of the 220/110 kV transformer with a new 400/110 kV transformer was necessary due to operational condition and cancellation of 220 kV voltage level.
