Abstract
Pri ekipi Formula Student se je pojavila potreba po simulaciji časa vožnje, saj nas je zanimalo v kolikšni meri določene spremenljivke vplivajo na skupni čas vožnje. S poznavanjem te odvisnosti bi lažje optimizirali vozilo in dosegli krajše čase vožnje. Ta problem se običajno rešuje preko posebno izdelanega simulatorja. Preko računanja sil in s tem pospeškov na posamezni točki proge smo določili skupen čas vožnje. Kasneje smo simulator tudi validirali preko meritev, kjer smo primerjali simulacijo z disciplinami iz tekmovanj Formula Student. Meritve so pokazale, da trenutno simulator še ni primeren za praktično uporabo, saj so odstopanja prevelika.

Title:Laptime simulation of Formula Student
Abstract:
The Formula Student team had a need to simulate driving time, as we were interested in the extent to which certain variables affect the total driving time.Knowing this would make optimizing the vehicles for shorter driving times easier. Generally, this problem is solved using a specially designed simulator. We had determined the driving time by calculating the forces and accelerations at individual points. We later validated these calculations through measurements by comparing the simulation results to events from Formula Student competitions. These measurements have proven the simulation not yet suitable for practical use, as the deviations are too large.
