Master thesis focuses on influence of process parameters in the WAAM manufacturing on residual stress. We welded simple geometry to the base material – structural steel. Samples were manufactured by a MAG welding process using G3Si1 welding wire of 1.2 mm diameter. The theoretical part includes a description of the WAAM manufacturing process and measurement of residual stress. A plan of experiment for production of samples using WAAM and measuring residual stress using X-ray diffraction is presented. The results were analyzed on terms of process parameters: welding current, manufacturing strategy and welding temperature. Welding current has the highest influence on residual stress. The manufacturing strategy has a great influence on the shape of the weld. It can happen that with wrong strategy we will not be able to make a desired product. The smallest effect on residual stress has welding temperature. Based on experiments we recommend alternating strategy with lowest possible welding current.
