This thesis describes the process of design and an actual reconstruction of an old NC milling machine to CNC control. At the beginning of the thesis, we reviewed theoretical foundations of milling machines and how the components, which are required for reconstruction of the machine, work. Further on, a design for an upgrade of the machine and a 3D model were prepared, so we could find solutions easier. Final construction design was made, followed by an actual installation of servomotors. Next, we connected electrical components to the input-output card and set configure the servo controllers with a software provided by the controllers. The chosen software to control the machine was Mach3, in which we have set up the right parameters for its proper operation. At the end, we performed a geometric analysis of milling on an aluminium alloy block.
