Abstract
Diplomsko delo se ukvarja z obravnavo poblagovljenja, komercializacije in privatizacije slovenskih tiskanih medijev. Zgodovinski kontekst za proučevanje slovenskih medijev predstavljamo skozi teorijo medijskih sistemov – polariziranega, demokratičnega in liberalnega, ki so vsi imeli določen vpliv na medijski sistem Slovenije. Ti so se razvijali postopoma, zato je potrebno razumeti njihovo zgodovino ter razvoj v povezavi z vprašanjem svobode tiska. Slovenski prostor mnogi teoretiki povezujejo s prostorom Srednje in Vzhodne Evrope, trendi držav tega prostora, ki so pravzaprav zgolj imitacije stanja na razvitem Zahodu, pa so prav tako trendi, ki se odvijajo v slovenskem medijskem prostoru. Komercializacija in privatiziranje medijev skozi vpliv politike zaznamujeta časopisni trg v Sloveniji.Zaradi tehnološkega napredka in digitalizacije medijev je v sodobnem kapitalističnem sistemu poblagovljenje medijev postalo vseprisotno, trend komercializacije pa se kaže v vse bolj očitnem sledenju medijev zakonom trga. V slovenski medijski krajini je še vedno opazen vpliv politične sfere in lastnikov medijev, kar ob pomanjkanju finančne neodvisnosti medijev novinarjem onemogoča neodvisno služenje javnemu interesu. Slovenska medijska sfera ugotovljeno postaja vse bolj monopolizirana, naklada tiskanih medijev pa se zmanjšuje, zaradi česar se zaposlitve novinarjev fleksibilizirajo, kar vzpostavlja medijem, ki delujejo brez prave uredniške politike in postavlja pod vprašaj obstoj novinarstva v javnem interesu.

Title:Commodification and commercialization of slovenian print media
Abstract:
The thesis deals with theories of commodification, commercialization and privatization, which it exemplifies on the basis of trends in the four largest Slovenian printed dailies. Historical context is presented through the theory of media systems – polarized, democratic and liberal, which all had a certain influence on the Slovenian media system. Due to the gradual development of the systems it is important to understand the history and development, which ledas to the issue of the freedom of the press. Many theorists connect Slovenian space with the space of Central and Eastern Europe, the trends of the countries, belonging to the area of Central and Eastern Europe are in fact only imitations of the conditions in the developed West and also take place in the Slovenian media sphere. Commercialization, together with privatization of the media through the influence of the politics. Due to technological progress and digitalization of the media, commodification in the modern capitalist system has become ubiquitous, trend of commercialization is reflected in increasingly obvious tracking of the market laws by the media. In the Slovenian media landscape, the influence of the political sphere and media owners is still noticeable, which, in the absence of financial independence of the media, prevents journalists from independently serving the public interest. The Slovenian media sphere has become increasingly monopolized, and the circulation of print media is declining, which makes the employment of journalists more flexible, thus establishing media without a firm editorial policy and calls into question the existence of journalism in the public interest.
