The use of a measuring system with sonic nozzles is widespread in industry as well as in research laboratories. The measuring system allows precise setting and measurement of gas flow. Due to its accuracy, it is suitable for calibration of devices in the field of gas mass and volume flow. Setting the desired gas flow through the sonic nozzles with the help of a manual pressure regulator is quite demanding, so as part of the thesis we performed the automation of the measuring system with sonic nozzles. Based on the analysis of the operation of the system, we purchased a suitable electronic gas pressure controller. The existing measuring system was redesigned and an electronic pressure controller was installed in it. We have created a control program that enables automated setting of the desired gas mass flow. After the measurements, we introduced a correction in the control program with the desire for higher accuracy of operation. We came up with improved measurement accuracy. The stability of the system was within the desired limits for all measurements. The obtained values led us to the conclusion that the automated system is stable enough for use for laboratory purposes.
