The dimensional stability of a panel is influenced by several factors, including the type of wood, the condensation factor and the density of the panel. In laboratory conditions we created three types of chipboards. To make the panels we used the chips of spruce, beech and a combination of both. The test subjects were cyclically exposed to low (33 %) or high (85 %) relative humidity. We monitored the changes in mass, length and thickness. The minimal value of change in mass and thickness was observed in panels which were made of spruce and beech with a density factor of 1.46. The minimal value of change in length was observed in panels made of beech.
