Abstract
Rezultati: Babice so zaradi narave svojega dela neposredno vključene v obravnavo žensk ob mrtvorojenosti. Rezultati študij so pokazali, da babice s svojo strokovnostjo, empatijo in spoštovanjem pripomorejo h kakovostni obravnavi ženske. Olajšajo porodno izkušnjo in omogočijo lažje psihosocialno okrevanje. O vplivu pestovanja mrtvorojenega otroka imajo avtorji raziskav različno mnenje.

Title:Midwifery care in grieving woman at stillbirth : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Stillbirth is accompanied by great distress and sadness that can last for many years. A stillborn child is a child that was born or came out of the mother's body with no signs of life (no breathing, no moving, no heartbeat) and weighed at least 500 grams at birth, or its body was at least 25 centimetres long, or the pregnancy lasted at least 22 weeks. Midwives have an important role in quality treatment of a woman with their emphatic, respectful and professional relation. Purpose: The purpose of this diploma paper is to present the importance of midwifery care of a grieving woman at stillbirth as the best possible care of a woman. Methods of work: The diploma paper is based on systematic overview of home and foreign articles from databases DIKUL, PubMed, Science Direct and CINAHL, which are not more than ten years old, are written in Slovene or English and are fully available. Descriptive method is used. Results: Midwives are, due to their work, directly involved in treating women at stillbirth. Studies' results have shown that midwives make for a quality treatment of a woman with their professionalism, empathy and respect. These ease a woman's birth experience and enable an easier psychosocial recovery. Authors of researches have different opinions about the influence of holding a stillborn baby in the mother's arms. Discussion and conclusion: Stillbirth definitely leaves a woman with great pain which can be eased to a certain amount by quality midwifery care. Such care demands a practical and theoretical education and understanding women's needs. Holding a stillborn child enables the woman to get to know her child and create memories. Grieving can last for several years and some women need help at it.
