In this master’s thesis I have focused on the topic of influence of the Second World War on the post-war generation, highlighting it with examples from two autobiographical novels Da me je strah? (Me, Scared?) and Prišleki (Newcomers). I analysed them by using comparative analysis. Due to the fact that both novels are autobiographies, I first introduced the lives of the two authors and outlined the era after the World War II. I specially focused on the socialistic upbringing and on the systematisation of school after the Second World War which had a considerable impact on the post-war youth. In the sixties, seventies and eighties, this generation rebelled towards the predominating war generation. This uprising manifested itself in three types of youth movements which are known as a subculture in the narrow sense, subpolitics, and a counterculture. Analysing the novels, I concentrated on the three categories of the narrative theory: the rhetorical modes, the narrator, and the place and time of the narration.
