Effects of the addition of various materials to particleboard were investigated. Many different combinations of reinforced panels were produced. The materials used for reinforcement included: veneer, straw, jute and PVC net. The bending strength, modulus of elasticity and density of the fabricated panels were determined. The measurements were taken in accordance with the EN 310 and EN 323 standards. The reinforced panels were compared to the base panel to evaluate the impact of the additional material. The measurement values obtained were further compared for OSB according to EN 300. It was found that the best panel in terms of the determined properties was the one having the veneer on surface. Placement of the veneer in the board middle or between surface and core layer didnt effect properties significantly. It was not possible to fully exploit the potential of the netting. The netting consisted of several fibrous threads which were not strongly coupled so the load was not transferred to the cross-section
