Films are omnipresent part of the everyday life of the western world and as such participate in the formation of the views and values of individuals and, consequently, of society as a whole. Animated films are one of the subgenres of films that are often also intended for younger viewers who are still learning to form their own opinions, worldviews and evaluate situations. As an important part of the film industry, animated films either directly or indirectly communicate to viewers the meanings and values that those viewers can internalize and use in their own reflections and actions in the cultural space of which they are a part of. This thesis expresses the subjective perceptions of identifying the values of the five best-selling animated films between years 2016 and 2019 and the attempt of their objective synthetic analysis, including the search for connections between the messages and themes of the values the films express. As the last step of the work, the paper contains an attempt to actualize the meaning of the most pronounced perceived communicated values for viewers in the western space.
