Abstract
Množično zaposlovanje žensk, pojav dvokariernih družin ter delitev skrbstvenih obveznosti med spoloma, so pereča vprašanja na področju usklajevanja delovnega in družinskega življenja, katerim se namenja veliko pozornosti v vseh državah članicah EU. Diplomsko delo analizira ukrepe družinske politike na področju usklajevanja delovnega in družinskega življenja v Sloveniji in na Češkem, ki pripomorejo k višji stopnji zaposlenosti žensk z otroki mlajšimi od 6 let. V prvem delu diplomskega dela ugotavljamo, da so dobro razvite sheme starševskih dopustov (materinski, očetovski in starševski) v kombinaciji z dobro razvitimi shemami ugodnega in cenovno dostopnega otroškega varstva ter možnostjo dela za krajši delovni čas, ključne za boljše usklajevanje dela in družinskega življenja družin in višjo stopnjo zaposlenosti žensk z otroki mlajšimi od 6 let. Preučevani državi Slovenija in Češka pripadata različnima modeloma družinske politike, katerih znatne razlike se pojavljajo v stopnji zaposlenosti žensk z otroki mlajšimi od 6 let kot tudi v stopnji vključenosti otrok v formalno otroško varstvo. Slovenija z dobro razvito družinsko politiko ter dobro razvitim sistemom otroškega varstva za razliko od Češke nudi boljše pogoje, ki pripomorejo k boljšemu usklajevanju dela in družinskega življenja.

Title:Comparative analysis of family policy measures on work-life balance in Slovenia and the Czech Republic
Abstract:
Increased female labor force participation, the emergence of dual career families and gender division of care responsibilities, are pressing issues in reconciliation of work and family life among all EU member states. The diploma thesis analyzes family policy measures in reconciliation of work and family life in Slovenia and the Czech Republic, which contributes to a higher employment rate of women with children under the age of six. Firstly, we ascertained that well-developed maternal, paternal and parental leave schemes, combined with well-developed and affordable childcare and the possibility of part-time work help to better balance work and family life. As a result, they help to increase the employment rate of women with children under the age of six. Secondly, the examined countries, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, belong to different family policy models, with significant differences in the employment rate of women with children under the age of six, as well as in the degree of inclusion of children in formal childcare. Unlike the Czech Republic, Slovenia with a well-developed family policy and a well-developed childcare, offers much better conditions, which contribute to a better work-life balance.
