Abstract
Njuni deli je združil in izboljšal nemški znanstvenik Hans-Jörg Uther v knjigi The Types of International Folktales (2011), v kateri je sodobno klasificiral pravljice.

Title:Comparative analysis of the selected fairy tales based on the theory of Bruno Bettelheim
Abstract:
The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part will include a short presenetation of all theoretical views on fairy tales. It will focus more on the social history theory of Jack Zipes, which will also provide an insight into different versions of selected fairy tales, some will be included in the thesis. It will also be related to the theory of folklor, where Antti Aarne and Stith Thompson are the main theorists. Their works were combined and imporved by a German scientist Hans-Jörg Uther in the book The Types of International Folktales (2011), in which he modernly classified the fairy tales. In the next chapters we will focus on Bruno Bettelheim. We will get a short presentation of his life and work, as this may get us an insight on why he focused on psychological aspect of fairy tales and why he has received some criticism. This is followed by a representation of his book The uses of Enchantment (1999), which chapters it covers, what does the author say about it and who is he speaking about. Once we get a detailed look at the theory, we will also briefly relate to other theoretical views of the fairy tale (more to the cultural and fokloristic theory). In the second part of the thesis, three fairy tales (Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Puss in boots) will be analyzed in detail and related to the theory of Bruno Bettelheim. Certain qoutes from the books will be transcribed and categorized according to the theory in the book The uses of Enchantment (1999). Finally the findings of the therotical and empirical part will be presented in a paragraph, where we will analyze the findings and their usefulness in the field of preschool education.
