In graduate work I studied the relationship between pink colour and femininity.
With reviewing historical records I discovered that gender separation begins to develop in children's clothing. The use of pink colour began to spread intensely in the USA in late 1940's and early 1950's.
I present two studies, where the first relates to the question of whether women are naturally attracted (prone?) to pink shades, and the second to the effect of pink colour on male gender. Here I present the specific shade of pink colour, which suppose to calm people down and therefore it was used in prisons, but only in male one.
In the last part, I present the term pinkification with it's problem and the use of pink colour for propaganda purposes. Here are some some positive and negative examples of how producers use the colour to address the desired target audience.
The last part consist of the analysis of the diploma project. Three reference artists are analysed, followed by the description of the idea, the course of creation and the final production of the work of art itself – a photo book.
