Abstract

Title:Prohibition of compulsory vaccinations: communications of people and organizations
Abstract:
Vaccination is one of the most, if not the most effective way to prevent diseases. At the same time the refusal of vaccines presents one of the greatest threats to public health. With time Antivaxers are using different tools to expand their views on vaccinations. They are also becoming increasingly active on the internet, especially on social media which represents an unlimited scope for spreading (mis)information. The democratization of science is a common feature in the rhetoric of antivaxers. They reject official science, and in turn only spread information, news and research that solidify their views. Many of which turn out to be false or misleading. The internet has made it possible for anyone to create and post content online, where the people in question tend to post attention grabbing content. The »movement« does not bolst many individuals, since there is a small amount of people who oppose vaccination, but are seemingly connect which makes them noticeable. The debate regarding vaccination is ongoing, but with every new crisis connected to vaccination, it also attracts greater (than usual) attention of the general public. Thus vaccination, considered to be one of the most important achievements of human civilization – since it protects us against many diseases, might just have become a victim of its own success.
