Abstract
V teoretičnem delu smo uporabili metodo deskripcije in opisali ključne pojme neprofitnih organizacij. Študijo primera smo uporabili pri opisu organizacije in delovanja rokometnih društev v Sloveniji in Srbiji, s statistično analizo smo primerjali njihove finančne vire.

Title:Financing analysis of selected handball societies in Slovenia and Serbia
Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the operation and organization of associations, giving close attention to the funding as being crucial to the existence and a successful functioning of all organizations. Our research should also determine the most important revenues and expenses of handball clubs. We focused on two selected Slovenian clubs and one club from Serbia. In the theoretical part we used the method of description and defined the key concepts of non-profit organizations. We used the case study to describe the organization and operation of handball clubs in Slovenia and Serbia, while the statistical analysis was used to compare their financial resources. Different types of the financial income and expenses were analysed within the selected clubs. The analysis showed which kind of revenue was the most beneficial for the clubs and what were their biggest expenses. It also showed, according to their annual budgets, that men's handball clubs received better funding due to their higher popularity. We found that the club in Serbia had a larger annual budget than the selected clubs in Slovenia despite the fact that Serbia has weaker economy. That said, the economic growth is neither the key factor in funding of the sports associations nor the most reliable indicator of their success. It is more important how much a country decides to spend on sports organizations. The size of the region in which the club operates can be of great significance because non-profit organizations are not self sustaining, but dependable on local communities and ultimately on the state. Hence they need to improve on their cooperation with the local government in order to reduce the expenses and the loss in their operations.
