Abstract

Title:Process optimization of truck's forged component
Abstract:
This master's thesis deals with the determination of the forming plan for the production of a product with cold massive forming technology and contains the analysis of the influence of the forming system's main input parameters on selected output responses. The output responses were scatters of the final product's height and the force in the fourth forming stage. The goal was to determine whether or not it is possible to manufacture such products with the available equipment based on the designed forming plan and to find out with the help of the analysis how much scatter of both output responses can be expected and to classify the input parameters by the influence on them. The forming plan was tested with analytical and numerical tools. The analysis was made with Taguchi method and also with the use of numerical tools. The results showed that the designed forming plan was suitable with minor corrections. The scatter of product's final height is within the dimension tolerance zone. Minor scatter of the forming force value is also to be expected. The input parameters could be classified only by the dimension scatter; the slug's mass specially stands out by its influence. It was not possible to classify the input parameters with the adequate statistically significant based on the value of the forming force due to the small scatter of it.
