Coordination of professional work and family life is gaining more importance in the world nowadays because of its contribution to the productivity of employees. Organizations and the state should cooperate when introducing and updating measures which are leading to a better coordination of work and family life.
The diploma thesis examines the coordination of work and family life of the employees who work in Slovenian prisons. The purpose was to determine how is work in harmony with family life of the employees and what is the main reason if this is not the case.
The survey was conducted using a survey method. It has been established that in order to coordinate work and family life regarding the Slovenian prison staff, one cannot say with certainty that the coordination is neither good nor bad. The biggest cause of poor compliance is due to staff shortages and working overtime.
The organization is suggested to make changes in the field of training, which would result in recruiting new employees faster, to make a change in the payroll for judicial police candidates, which would make the profession more interesting and would result in establishing more new jobs. The organization is also being offered a faster recruitment process within the legal options, with an emphasis on immediate response in the event of an employee's retirement announcement.
