Abstract
Diplomsko delo obravnava delo socialnih delavk v varni hiši.

Title:
Work of Social Workers at the Safe House
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the work of social workers at the safe house. It includes a description of the work carried out by the social workers at the safe house, as well as the care of the social workers for themselves. Presented are the methods that social workers use at their work, described is the process of working with women who are survivors of domestic violence and the characteristics of the said work, as well as the care of social workers for their own personal and professional development and their methods of relief. The theoretical part of the thesis covers topics such as the definition of violence against women and the terms that are used in connection with violence, as well as the dynamics of domestic violence and the vicious cycle of violence, the consequences and the development of the assistance, provided to survivors of domestic violence and social work at the safe house. The empirical part involves a qualitative study conducted by interviewing social workers who work in a safe house. I conducted the interviews using a questionnaire or guidelines which were prepared in advance. The survey sample consists of six social workers currently employed in safe houses in Slovenia. The results are presented to answer the following questions: What social work methods are used in the safe house, what is the central objective of social work at the safe house in dealing with victims of violence and how social workers at the safe house care for their own professional and personal development.
