The industrial field was developed after agrarian revolution. After the invention of steam engine, electrification, conveyor belt and digital revolution, it is time for the fourth industrial revolution or Industry 4.0, which brings new technologies and concepts like cyber-physical systems, cloud computing, the internet of things, augmented reality, simulations, additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence and Big data. The development of industry is visible also in logistics and traffic. The use of the technologies of Industry 4.0 enables the improvement and simplification of logistic and traffic processes. This is possible due to the high availability of data, process transparency, automatic process control and advanced communication between devices and on human-machine relations. Major changes in the future may be caused by the use of different types of autonomous means of transport, including drones, which are convenient for local distribution and distribution in hard-to-reach areas, so they can be used also in humanitarian logistics for delivering of supplies to areas in crisis and that is the way of helping people. Industry 4.0 principles can also be integrated into pharmaceutical and hospital logistics. Otherwise, advanced technology is endangering jobs and triggering the need for different occupations, on the other hand, it can help in saving environment, for example, by more efficient transport arrangements it is possible to reduce the number of empty truck's journeys.
