One of the most important objects of geodetic monitoring is the Vogršček water reservoir dam, being the highest embankment dam in Slovenia. Maximum height of the dam is 35,40 meters, the dam length at its highest level is 174 meters. The natural or man-made forces can deform or move constructed or natural objects. Therefore, regular monitoring of the objects must be timely executed for detection and follow-up of the deformations and displacements. The monitoring of the displacement points of the Vogršček water reservoir has been established at the very beginning of the dam construction, however only the measurements between 2014 and 2018 have been considered in this master thesis. The geodetic control network consists of horizontal and vertical control networks, each of them further consisting of primary and secondary geodetic control networks.
In the master thesis, geodetic monitoring of the displacement points movements on the Vogršček water reservoir dam has been elaborated, the results of two different deformation analyses have been compared and the effects of individual factors on the results have been identified. The deformation analysis has been elaborated separately for vertical and horizontal movements, using both the Hannover approach and the alternative approach to testing displacements. The results of the Vogršček water reservoir dam displacements have been presented. Based on the results, the deformation analysis has been selected and recommended. All the results have been evaluated and presented in tables; the most important ones have been presented also graphically.
