The topic of the diploma thesis has been a presentation of the project Holistic Reconstruction of Castle park in Brežice. The project was realized in the years 2009 and 2010. It is an example of good practice of holistic park reconstruction in Slovenia because the reconstruction was done with all trees, shrubs, new placement of paths, benches, plateaus, communal cable lines, lights, planting of replaced trees and new shrubs, marking the trees with plates, placing of park's information signs, and a small children's playground. The purpose of the diploma thesis has been to present the role of the arboriculture consultant with park's reconstruction and advantages of his cooperation at all planning and working phases. In the diploma thesis, I have presented a preparation of the arboricultural plan, the process of consensus acquisition, execution and monitoring of the planned maintenance work (care for trees, construction works, planting of new plants), coordination, and cooperation between different disciplines. In the thesis have also been presented: modern arboriculture, certification in arboriculture, problems when using different expressions, procedures of planning and execution of procedures in the parks, treatment of trees at the area of potential construction works, and labeling of trees with signs. There are some suggestions presented at the end of the thesis for improvements and standardization of Slovenian arboriculture terminology, suggestions for Slovenian names for arboriculture expert material and suggestions for the process of trees treatment at the area of potential construction works in Slovenia.
