The purpose of our research was to determine the presence of allergenic trees in green areas in the 24 primary schools in the Municipality of Maribor. We make an inventory of 1528 trees and ranked them into three groups by allergenicity. Highly allergenic tree (23 %), low allergenic (52 %), and trees whose allergenicity is unknown (25 %). The most prominent tree species are norway maple (14 %) and silver birch (13 %). Next to the inventory of trees was assessed vitality using method VTA. Beside general estimation of trees vitality, we particularly focused on the assessment of severely affected and allergenic trees. These two characteristics were acquired for further suggestions and valued measures. We suggested measures for 11 trees among which are 8 allergenic. The proposed measures were evalueted on the basis of data from two different companies. One of them is Dandelion, mala vrtna delavnica, d.o.o. and other is Arborist s.p. For allergenic tree species, whose vitality was satisfied, we made a recommendation for further treatments in the future.
