Abstract
Na območju Lopate smo ponovno premerili 54 vzorčnih ploskev na sistematični mreži 100 % 200 m. Površina posamezne ploskve je znašala 0,04 ha. Ploskve so bile prvič merjene leta 1972.

Title:Structure and development of forest stands in old-growth Lopata
Abstract:
We have conducted repeated measurements and observations within 54 sample plots on a systematic grid 100 x 200 m. Every sample plot covered 0.04 ha. First measurements took place in 1972. On every plot we measured diameter at breast height of every tree, recorded total height of two trees and also evaluated and recorded volume of coarse woody debris. Within every research plot 4 little squares were set-up to inventory natural regeneration dynamics. 1266 trees have been measured in total, the majority of them, 1040, being beech trees. We have recorded an overall increase of 418 to 586 trees per hectare, specifically accounting the beech tree species increase from 328 to 481 trees per hectare. Beech was the dominating species in natural regeneration plots with 93 % presence with ever increasing share expected in the future, as we have recorded 208,33 specimens per hectare overall. Volume of coarse woody debris amounted to 31.09 m3/ha.
