SI), Digital Library of Ljubljana University (DiKUL) and online browser Google. Results: Since self-harm behaviour is a severely complex phenomenon, it requires a high degree of professional knowledge and experiences from clinical practice. In a desire to improve the quality and safety treatment of adolescents was at the Department for Adolescent Psychiatry at University Psychiatric Clinic Ljubljana introduced folder, named selfharm and safety plan. The main purpose of making such a plan is to be prepared in case of occurrence of self-harm, thus helping the adolescent and the health care professionals to act accordingly. Discussion and conclusion: Because self-harm behaviour is a serious public health issue, is very important that health and other services are involved for qualitative and entirely treatment. Knowledge of using the safety plan, therapeutic communication, which is the base element of an interpersonal therapeutic relationship, is for nursing health care professionals’ key importance.
