This MA thesis analyses the instruction of writing skills and creative writing through the short-short story in Spanish as a foreign language class at levels A1 and A2 according to the CEFR. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses didactic approaches to teaching writing, it explains the stages of the writing process and the functions of writing, and mentions some benefits of using creative writing in Spanish as a foreign language class. Furthermore, it analyses the role of creative writing in the Curriculum for Spanish as a Foreign Language in primary and secondary school in Slovenia, in the Curriculum of Cervantes Institute and in the CEFR. The theoretical part also present the short-short story as a literary genre and the benefits of using it in the Spanish class. The empirical part of the thesis analyses the use of writing skills and creative writing in different textbooks for Spanish at A1 and A2 levels. Lastly, the thesis includes some didactic adaptations of short-short stories that can be used in Spanish as a foreign language class at levels A1 and A2.
