Bioinformacijske študije mehanizmov procesa staranja pri ljudeh

Abstract
Učinkovine proti staranju niso le kozmetični trend, kajti študije kažejo, da postajajo pomembne tudi v zdravljenju, ker bi omogočile bolj prijetno starost. Eden od načinov iskanja tovrstnih učinkovin je s pomočjo bioinformacijskih pristopov. Bioinformatika je orodje, ki k problematiki pristopa z izdelavo algoritmov, ki obdelujejo velike količine podatkov. Hkrati skrbi tudi za urejanje in skladiščenje teh podatkov v podatkovnih zbirkah. Tovrstne analize lahko generirajo rezultate, ki v nasprotnem primeru ne bi bili odkriti. Tako lahko tudi dosežemo novo informativnost podatkov. Trenutno je na voljo več različnih teorij s katerimi se raziskovalci trudijo opredeliti mehanizme in razloge za proces staranja. Vsem je skupno to, da gre za izredno neraziskan in kompleksen proces. Študije preusmerjanja rabe že odobrenih zdravil se sklicujejo na bioinformacijske metode. Njihov namen je preverjanje potenciala že odobrenih zdravil, za katere bi eventuelno lahko dobili dovoljenja za klinične preizkuse. Metformin je znan kot zdravilo za zdravljenje sladkorne bolezni in je primer zdravila, pri katerem se testirajo vplivi na staranje pri ljudeh. Iz rezultatov druge analize, so uspešno določili učinkovino tanespimicin kot zdravilo, ki naj bi odložilo staranje. Tanespimicin je senolitik, ki deluje tako, da uničuje senescentne človeške celice, medtem ko ostale ostanejo intaktne. Kot zaviralca staranja so ga preizkusili na nematodah Caenorhabditis elegans, pri katerih sicer ni opažene senescence.

Title:Bioinformatic studies for the mechanisms of the ageing process in humans
Abstract:
Anti-aging agents are not just cosmetic trend, as studies declare, they are becoming more popular healing trend for mitigating ageing effects. One way to search for these agents is by using bioinformatics approaches. Bioinformatic is a tool which is approaching the problem by constructing algorithms for big amounts of data analysis. Those types of analysis generate results, that otherwise won’t be discovered, because they often aren’t standing out, which limits the amount of information the data is able to give. Nowadays there are many theories available, whit whom scientists are trying to describe ageing mechanisms. All available theories share a common thought that ageing is unfamiliar and complex process. Drug repurposing studies are using bioinformatics methods. Their goal is to check the potential for anti-ageing effects in approved drugs, because that would be the only way to get a chance for a clinical trial for human use. Metformin, known as anti-diabetic medicine is still in clinical trial for anti-ageing effects on human. One study had successful expose tanespimycin as medicine that has a potential to postpone human ageing process. Tanespimycin is senolytic, who destroys senescent human cells and do nothing to the healthy ones. Its geroprotective effects have been tested on Caenorhabditis elegans, in whom senescence is not happening.
