The purpose of this text (my diploma) is to shed light on scenographic elements of the psytrance subculture, with the help of philosophical and psychological theories of the unconscious. The psytrance subculture is based on ideas of peace, love, oneness, the feeling of belonging and the sensual experience. On a psytrance concert, the main idea of the subculture is related to the listener through music and visual effects, both of which attempt to achieve a transcendental state of consciousness. In this specific state we can experience these symbols presenting themselves as individual and personality-based variations of common archetypal images. Therefore, I focused on symbols, as interpreted by Jung, which were created with specific painting techniques on the scenographic elements of a psytrance event. I created the scenographic elements form my personal expressiveness, which contains experimentation, independent of either a chosen or an established motif.
