Abstract
Pri ekipi formule študent Superior engineering smo se odločili za razvoj lastne čeljusti predvsem zaradi težav s ceno zavornih čeljusti na trgu ter tudi zaradi dimenzijskih omejitev po pravilih FSAE, kjer smo omejeni na 10 colska platišča kar pomeni, da je zelo težko spraviti zavorni disk večjih dimenzij v platišče. Tako smo se odločili izdelati manjšo čeljust z istimi zavornimi učinki. S timskim delom, 3d modeliranjem ter s simulacijami in s izvedljivostjo pri izdelavi nam je uspelo izdelati izredno lahko, ter dimenzijsko ustrezno čeljust z zelo dobrimi zavornimi zmogljivostmi. To pomeni da ob tem, da smo v platišču sprostili dodatni prostor za zavorni disk, smo tudi finančno profitirali, naredili smo velik korak naprej pri izdelavi in sestavi dirkalnika.

Title:Brake caliper development
Abstract:
At team formula student Superior engineering we have decided to develop our own brake caliper because of problems with big pricing on the market and by the rules of FSAE we are restricted to 10 inch wheels which makes it very hard to integrate brake disc with bigger dimensions into the wheel. That were the reasons we decided to develop our own smaller brake caliper with same braking performances. With team work, 3d modeling tools, simulations and with ingenuity at the production of the caliper we managed to produce very light and dimensionally small caliper with very good braking performances. Which means that now we have a lot more space in the wheel for bigger brake disc, and financially we made big step forward at the production and assembly of the new race car.
