Abstract
Povzročitelji nasilja so bili največkrat pacienti in spremljevalci (obiskovalci) pacientov, vendar so bili do ginekologov velikokrat nasilni tudi sodelavci in nadrejeni.

Title:Experiences of workplace violence among gynaecologists
Abstract:
Healthcare workers are at high risk of experiencing various types of workplace violence and this problem has only now started to get attention in Slovenia. In this study we focused to examine experiences of various types of workplace violence among Slovenian gynaecologist regarding different perpetrators of violence. The questionnaire used was translated and adapted after SOVES-G-R and applied online. 56 participants responded. Results showed that majority of Slovenian gynaecologists are exposed to workplace violence. The most reported violence was verbal violence, however mobbing and threats were also frequent. Perpetrators of violence were most often patients and visitors, although co-workers and superiors also often showed violent behaviour. Most gynaecologists feel mostly confident when managing verbal violence and not confident (especially women) when managing physical violence. Most gynaecologists did not take training in aggression management. The emotional impact of workplace violence had a major influence for most participants which is why changes in educational system should be considered. Furthermore, most gynaecologists don’t report workplace violence. Violence is also rarely discussed with superiors which shows that the extend of workplace violence remains hidden for most. To reduce workplace violence, a systematic workplace violence reporting should be provided in all healthcare institutions.
