Abstract
V svojem raziskovalnem delu sem preučeval sintezo tiohidroksamskih kislin kot ligandov za pripravo kovinskih kompleksov. Namen magistrskega dela je bila sinteza raznolikih tiohidroksamskih kislin ter priprava njihovih nikljevih(II) in rutenijevih(II) kompleksov. Po optimizaciji določenih sinteznih postopkov sem iz izhodnih aldehidov uspešno pripravil pet tiohidroksamskih kislin in potrdil njihovo strukturo z jedrsko magnetno resonančno (NMR), masno in infrardečo (IR) spektroskopijo. Kisline so bile v splošnem slabo obstojne in so med postopkom izolacije delno razpadle, zato jih ni bilo možno izolirati v čisti obliki. Pripravljene kisline sem uporabil za sintezo nikljevih in rutenijevih kompleksov. Z istim namenom sem uporabil tudi dve drugi tiohidroksamski kislini. Uspešno sem pripravil pet nikljevih(II) in pet rutenijevih(II) cimenskih kompleksov. Komplekse sem okarakteriziral z NMR, masno, IR in ultravijolično-vidno (UV-Vis) spektroskopijo ter elementno analizo. Z omenjenimi tehnikami sem potrdil strukturo in čistost nikljevih kompleksov, medtem ko sem pri rutenijevih kompleksih opazil, da so slabo obstojni v raztopinah.

Title:Synthesis of thiohydroxamic acids, their nickel and ruthenium complexes
Abstract:
During my research work I have studied the synthesis of thiohydroxamic acids as ligands for the preparation of metal complexes. The purpose of my thesis was to prepare diverse thiohydroxamic acids, their nickel(II) and ruthenium(II) complexes. After the optimization of synthetic procedures, I have successfully prepared five thiohydroxamic acids and confirmed their structure with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. The acids were generally very unstable as they partially decomposed during the isolation procedure and therefore could not be isolated in pure form. The prepared acids were used in the synthesis of nickel and ruthenium complexes. Additionally, two other thiohydroxamic acids were used. I have successfully prepared five nickel and five ruthenium(II)-cymene complexes. The complexes were characterized with NMR, mass, IR, ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy and elemental analysis. With these techniques I have confirmed the structure and purity of nickel complexes, whereas I observed that ruthenium complexes were unstable in solutions.
