I began my research with the destruction of ego in order to achieve absolute lucidity by dissolving existing systems, values and ethics due to them blurring real insights. In my thesis I studied the role of egocentrism in constructing the modern society. I find that the narcissistic way of living is in fact a false self and as such a pathology of normality in today's time. I researched how this influences the society. As an antidote to this mode of life, I offered daoism with my thesis that this East Asian philosophy allows us to return to the authenticity of being. In conclusion, I find that daoism can offer a tranquil, joyful and intuitive perception of the world, while this philosophy succeeds in filling the emptiness caused by narcissism.
