For the creation of an online portfolio, several essential steps were required, such as literature review, drafting of plans, competition analysis, creating a persona, preparing
wireframes and mockups, and also defining basic elements of the site (colour and typography). Based on all these steps, the online portfolio was then created in WordPress. This step was followed by website optimization, which allows us to rank high in search engines. Better the optimization, greater a chance that people will notice us. Instructions for better optimization were followed, such as creating friendly URLs, images with ALT tags, the appropriate hierarchy of headings, meta tags and meta descriptions. An essential element of this thesis is making the portfolio user-friendly and easy to use. To this end, multiple testings, were carried out, where the user performance was measured, number of clicks and time needed for the user to successfully finish the given task. First-hand results were received from possible future users of the website. Final testing showed that created website is visually appealing, user-friendly and, above all, easy to use. This was, besides good search-engine optimization the primary goal of the thesis.
