The master's thesis is roughly divided into two parts; theoretical and empirical part, they are
both engaged with renovation and function of Jakob Aljaž's birthplace, from the perspectives of different groups of interest. Empirical part is based on the analysis of archival sources of Medvode TV, such as written sources, photos and videos. It investigates the groups of interest, active in the local area that are under the direct influence of the given topic. It hands out some important insights on their points of views as well as the dialogue amongst them and their perspective on the topic of renewal of Jakob Aljaž's birthplace. Furthermore it highlights the significance of work and personality of Jakob Aljaž and tries to answer the question of the current state of Jakob Aljaž's birthplace. It seeks to research what has already been done, what are the plans for the future along with backgrounds and the role of groups of interest in the process. An important part of the empirical work is also a screenplay for a television documentary about the life and work of Jakob Aljaž. Theoretical part of master's thesis combines different compatible theoretical concepts such as cultural heritage, collective memories, nationalism, invented traditions, authenticity, cultural space revitalization as well as the definitions of ethnographic and documentary film. It draws resources from the fields of conservation studies, museology, visual anthropology and media anthropology.
