The main theme of this Master's thesis is teaching informal French. Firstly, the notion of informal French is presented in the theoretical part, together with some tips for teaching informal French with a corpus of informal French. In addition, this part contains a description of informal French teaching through history, and a detailed explanation of different language registers. The practical part consists of 5 interviews with teachers of French as a foreign language (FLE) who teach in Slovenian high schools. In this part, their answers are analysed. The interviews with the teachers were conducted on Skype in the mother tongue, and afterwards translated to French and analysed. Examples of exercises used by teachers in Slovenian high schools are included in the appendices. The last part includes exercises useful for teachers interested in including informal French in their lessons, with a corpus given at the beginning of the chapter.
