The intention of this master's thesis is to explore the extent to which mobile applications in Slovenian primary and secondary schools are used for geography classes. The offer of such applications is very wide, and mobile applications can offer (additional) education in many areas, including geography. This master's thesis consists of theoretical and empirical section. The theoretical section presents a phenomenon of mobile learning, in which are defined its theoretical basics and characteristics, advantages and disadvantages and mobile offers for the study of geography. In the following, the descriptions of individual geographic mobile applications are described, where their functions, usability, advantages or disadvantages and
the appropriateness of use for the needs of geography lessons. The results of questionnaires and interviews, related to the applicability of mobile applications in Slovenian schools, are graphically presented in the empirical section. Most schools do not use the mobile applications in geography classes and the rest use them as a teaching tool several times a year.
