No matter the type of business it is involved in, each organization produces vast amounts of different documents. These demand a transparent, orderly and appropriate manner of storage to facilitate any future reviewing, verifying and proving of various facts. We should be aware that certain documents could be or eventually become part of our nation's cultural heritage.
Within the framework of my thesis, a study was conducted on the case of the case of the Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Infrastructure. The study analyzed the actual state of affairs in the management of documentary material. Upon analyzing the work processes for managing and storing documentary material, minor errors were found in the allotting of call numbers and the classification of documentary material, which result in incorrect deliveries to civil servants. These errors are addressed promptly, so they have no significant impact on the business.
An upskilling on the work processes for managing documentary materials is proposed for all employees. While the Agency already pays great attention to educating, refreshing knowledge and shedding light on the new developments in the field of legislation, it would be highly recommended for such courses to be made compulsory for all employees.
