The diploma thesis describes the life of the workers at the Impol plant and the factory-related life. Throughout its current 400-year history, this factory has changed quite a few owners and developed from a small blacksmith shop into a large company. The diploma thesis focuses on the study of working culture in Slovenia so far. The town of Zgornja Bistrica is then presented, followed by a chronicle timeline review of the plant's operation, focusing on the post-World War II era. The time was a socialist era of social regulation, in which social security was the care of the society, and workers engaged in business enterprise decisions as well. In the central part, the diploma thesis presents memories of the employees who were or still are employed by the company in one way or another. Topics that the author touched, were methods of transportation to work, working hours, salary, education, workspace conditions, nutrition, healthcare, housing, leisure, political commitment and mutual relations. Through the memoirs of the interlocutors, the diploma work reveals nostalgic views on life in the factory prior to 1991, so in the last part of the thesis, the author examined the acquired data from the point of view of nostalgia.
