The subject of this research is the Neuhaus mansion located on top of a small hill above the town of Tržič. The author is interested in knowing when in history was a turning point that changed the Neuhaus from castle into social institution. Furthermore, using retrograde method, she explores the life and activities of the castle’s history. The research is based on archive sources, existing literature and interviews. In the introduction she lays out the workflow of the project and idea selection process. The second chapter is about history and development of Tržič which she presents historically and geographically. In the third chapter the object of research – the Neuhaus mansion, is presented and described alongside its surrounding area. She continues with explanation of the terms castle and mansion. In the fourth chapter she describes the events in the mansion using a retrograde method, briefly describes every activity that took place in the mansion and lists all the important people that lived there before the Second World War. The fifth chapter is devoted to opinions and proposals by citizens about future use and purpose of the castle.
