New era of internet challenged the studies of anthropology with new questions about human and his relations with earthly. It transferred confrontation of human to immaterial world not related to religious world. Despite that, the fundamental anthropological studies of human, its relations can be used to study this new relation to internet, digital media and social networks.
First part of the thesis is discovering the new concept of digital anthropology which first appeared at the end of 20th century and is still searching for its standpoint in the beginning of 21st century. Main theme here is questioning digital and its relation to human being and inversely.
Because of human’s inseparability with forming relationships there is also a dimension of immaterial which can be connected to relationship with God. Therefore, the second section of the thesis is discovering the relation of human and its need for community that social media is to some extent able to give. Thoughts of this part are based on the Bible and Church doctrine.
Third and last part of the thesis is pointing out the possible parallels of social media, networks with community, Church.
