Abstract
V svojem diplomskem delu sem predstavil korupcijo v športu. V prvem delu diplome so predstavljeni korupcija, Mednarodna nogometna zveza in primeri koruptivnih dejanj.

Title:
POLITICS AND CORRUPTION IN INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
Abstract:
The present diploma thesis discusses corruption in sport. Sport has changed and developed a lot during the last few decades. This shows not only in sport achievements but also in the mindset of those people who do not engage in sport professionally. Instead of resting and watching television, more and more people spend their time on activities. Sport has developed to the point where people perceive it as a multi-billion business, which is intertwined with political as well as personal interests. Since the 8th of September 1888, when the first official football game (in Great Britain), the development of football has been escalating quickly, except in the time of both wars, when it was at a standstill. Globalisation and financial profit only stimulated this process and brought positive and negative consequences. The negative ones are more noticeable than positive ones, corruption being one of the biggest. Not only in the world of football, but in all sports disciplines. Corruption in sport existed before this, only it was not as distinctly exposed as it is now when sport produces enormous amounts of money. The diploma thesis tries to investigate the effect of politics on Fifa. Although Fifa is a non-profit organisation, it seems officials have introduced a neo-liberal model of management to the organisation. This is shown through the wish for high earnings of Fifa itself as well as of its main leaders. The first part of the thesis presents corruption, International Federation of Association Football and examples of corruptive acts. The examples are analysed and connected to the theory of racional choice, since it is established that all are drive by two aspirations: getting more profit and avoiding costs and risks. The thesis tries to investigate what brought the leades to take advantage of their positions and use it for personal interests despite their high incomes. The second part describes conditions in Qatar as the host of the world cup. I illustrated the voting process as a practical example. The last part of the thesis gives the conclusion and findings to the research questions.
