Paying bills is a necessity no one can escape. People usually come in contact with it between the ages of 15 and 25. Today we have many different methods of paying our bills. This thesis presents electronic billing (electronic receiving and paying our bills), focused on natural persons and the safety, speed, transparency, accuracy, operational costs, and storage in electronic form. The aim of this thesis is to determine if the presented characteristics of e-billing are more important to users than other methods, and to confirm the hypotheses that the number of e-billing users in Slovenia is increasing and that it differs according to age groups.
The theoretical part is focused on defining basic terms. It includes the description of the development of e-billing and everything needed for it to function. The practical part presents the results of a questionnaire given to users of e-billing and those who prefer other methods of paying their bills.
The results of the questionnaire analysis and data from the Bank of Slovenia’s Bulletin show that over the years, the occurrence of e-billing is increasing. The research shows that the number is higher among your people and decreases with age.
When using e-billing, the respondents state a clear overview of their bank transactions and accessibility as the most important factors. In the future, the providers of banking solutions could think about offering packages with just electronic transaction account, which is already an established practice abroad. It is also significantly cheaper – sometimes even free of charge.
