Abstract
V nalogi smo prikazali delovanje naše tehnologije – kodiranje podatkov iz binarnega zapisa v DNA, sintezo DNA in branje zapisanega v DNA vijačnici. Našo tehnologijo smo primerjali z obstoječimi tehnologijami trga in pokazali edinstveno vrednost razvite tehnologije.

Title:Development and comparison of methods for encoding digital data in nucleic acids
Abstract:
Long term data archiving is limited to 30 years in ideal storage conditions. This translates to a need for new solutions in the field of data archiving. An interesting and attractive solution for the archiving of digital data is also the DNA molecule. Its main advantages are, in particular, the longevity of the recorded data, the high density of stored information and the possibility of rapid data multiplication. Due to the expensive DNA synthesis, the DNA as a data storage medium is still impractical. The purpose of this work is to review and compare existing solutions for data archiving in DNA and develop a custom solution that enables efficient storage of digital data in DNA without significant advancements in the DNA synthesis. In this work, I have demonstrated workings of our technology - encoding data from binary to the DNA, DNA synthesis and reading of recorded data in the DNA. I have compared our technology with existing technologies and demonstrated the unique value of our work compared to the current standard. For hypothetical commercialization, a review of the market and investment in companies was also made. I have also prepared a plan for the further development of our technology and described the strategy for commercialization and the creation of a company that would enable our method to be effectively marketed.
