Project Moderation of traffic in Vrata Valley with its content and goals, extends to the fields of spatial planning, sustainable development, environmental protection, transport and sustainable mobility, as well as the economy (tourism). The idea of establishing a traffic regime in the Vrata Valley came into being at the beginning of the 20th century, but plans by the Municipality of Kranjska Gora began to be gradually implemented only in the last few years. The traffic calming regime is expected to be fully operational in 2020. The seminar paper deals with the project primarily from the aspect of spatial planning. The project has been evaluated on the basis of a comparison of the compliance of the objectives with the selected spatial development documents. The objectives of the project are broadly in line with the objectives of selected international, national, regional and municipal documents in the field of environmental protection, implementation of sustainable mobility, development of sustainable tourism and provision of a favorable development status for the local population of tourist-visited areas in the Alpine region. An assessment of the expected spatial effects of the project on selected elements of the spatial structure, such as the natural environment and resources, economy and infrastructure, is also given.
