Aeolic effect on the soil formation is still quite unexplored area. The goal of my Thesis is to present all the major impacts of wind and the source areas of the particles, which form particular soil. The impact of ice age has an important role in Europe. It influences ground coverage, wind speed and its direction, the amount of precipitation, soil weathering, soil moisture and soil structure. All factors contribute to dust transportation. There was also lower sea level in ice age, which resulted in erosion of open area, which was later on deposited in central Europe. Another important impact on European soil formation is that wind transported particles from other continents, especially from North Africa area, the Sahara desert. This was especially important in soil formation in southern Europe and is still noticeable in central Europe. Both impacts also apply to Slovenia. In the coastal part, the influence of African deserts is more pronounced, while in other parts of Slovenia, the wind blows dust from the mountains to the lower area.
