This thesis discusses the sabbath from the perspectives of the documents Essenes in Damascus and Jewish in Levitic. There is a list of all the places where Sabbath appears in these two documents and the interpretation of these lines. At the beginning of this work, the author presents the Levitic and Damascus document and authors of these two papers. It is observed how Essens went even further with rules and additional terms to protect the sanctity of the Sabbatah. Based on these documents, the author made a comparative analysis table that confirms the thesis that the Essens did celebrate Sabbath more vigorously and passionately than Jews in Levitic. Sabbath is important to this day, and therefore it is important to talk about it and to be aware of its history because, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath,” (Mark 27b:2). At the end of this thesis is also a short enclosure of one Jewish person , so the public can see how people of the Jewish faith actually celebrate Sabbath today. This thesis can be important and informative for everyone, regardless of religious affiliation, because it shows the importance of the day of rest. The day of rest has been, and will always be, a big part of a person’s life, because only with this rest, a man can live his life to the fullest with purpose.
