In my thesis, I initially defined the concept of drawing, presented drawing techniques, types and classification of drawings according to its purpose, motifs in its expression and further on highlighted its basic characteristics. I continued with presenting the following stage of a drawing − a draft for execution in two printmaking techniques. Further on I presented another selected artistic field printmaking. First I presented the concept of graphics and later described two of the graphic techniques, linocut and vernis mou. In the following part of my thesis you can find also presented sketches, drawings, drafts and prints of Henri Matisse and analyzed the use of interventional "hand-additional” drawings on art prints of Jasper Johns and William Kentridge. I completed the theoretical part with the presentation of different relations between drawing and printmaking.
The theoretical part is followed by the practical part, where I tried to answer the asked research questions through my artwork. The main goal of my thesis was to determine the relation that is established between drawings and printmaking, which drawing in its individual phases can appear as an independent work of art and how can the combination of the artistic fields of drawing and printmaking (with a "hand-additional" drawing on the art prints) gain extra value.
