The master's thesis with the help of sociological, antropological and literary theories analises and compares the following novels; Ki jo je megla prinesla, Vočje noči Oštrigeca and V rdečem. It tries to decide the doubts role as a space between fall and progressive search for purpose in those works where magical paganistic nature and christian supernaural challange human reason. Novels bring the reader links between lessons in stories and megaconsumer, digitalized, competitive reality. It exposes the importance of quality education and proposes the return to reading as one of possible solutions that would help the modern youth with giving purpose to their lives in a modern world marked with identity crisis.
