Gay and heterosexual relationships are heterogeneous. Gay relationships differ from heterosexual and also each relationship is unique in itself. These differences are noticeable especially in values, mutual agreements and views on relationships in general. In the next chapters this thesis presents mutual agreements, values and different gay relationships based on in-depth research and interviews with ten different gay couples. Main theme of the thesis are closed (monogamous) and open relationships of gay couples in Slovenia. Open relationships are very common and almost desirable within gay community but on the other side some individuals persist at heteronormative patterns and practices inside closed relationships. Thesis is based on scientific writings from domestic and foreign experts and extensive research of patterns and practices in relationships that present to the reader a personal life-stories with theories about mutual agreements, practices, scenarios and life of gay couples in Slovenia. Because of small sample we cannot generalise results and apply them to the whole gay community in Slovenia but thesis can be an introduction into extensive research of gay couples.
